Dim Posto is a Bengali Egg curry prepared with poppy seed and spices. For egg lovers it is a must try recipe. It is a very easy and quick recipe to make. It is basically served with hot steamed rice.
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED
2. Poppy seed-
3. Green chili- 3pieces
4. Ginger- 1inch
5. Mustard oil
6. Bay leaf- 1pieces
7. Dry red chili- 1piece
8. Onion- 1medium piece
9. Tomato- 1medium piece
10. Turmeric powder
11. Salt
12. Water
13. Coriander
PROCEDURE
In a bowl take 4 boiled egg, add 1/4TSP salt and 1/4TSP turmeric powder.Coat egg gently and let it marinate for 5 minutes.
In a mixer jar take 2TbSP of poppy seed,3 green chilies, 1inch ginger and grind to a smooth paste.
In a kadai heat 2TbSP of mustard oil and fry the eggs for 5 minutes on medium flame. Take the eggs aside.
In the same kadai add 1 bay leaf and 1 dry red chili, saute for 30seconds.
Add chopped onions and fry them.
Then add chopper tomato, stir and cover for few minutes to soften the tomato.
Next add the poppy seed paste and 1TSP turmeric powder. Fry till oil separates.
Add 1cup of water,fried eggs and 1TSP salt.
Cover and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
Lastly add some chopped coriander and 1TSP mustard oil.
Enjoy with hot steamed rice!!
