"Posto" or "Poppy seed" is Bengali's one of favourite ingredients,they use it in their dishes every possible way. So today we are here with a recipe called 'Posto Rice'. We hope you will enjoy this recipe too.
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED
- Boiled Rice- 3cups
- Poppy seed paste-2TbSP
- Poppy seed- 1TbSP
- Onion (chopped into small pieces)
- Carrot (chopped into small pieces)
- Green Peas
- Potato (chopped into small pieces)
- Egg - 2pieces
- Cashew- 6-8 pieces
- Raisin- 6-8 pieces
- Green chili
- Butter
- Refined oil
- Salt
STEPS OF PREPARATION
In a bowl break 2 eggs, add 1/2 TSP salt and whisk well.
In a kadai take 1TSP refined oil, add whisked egg and scramble well. Save for later.
In the same pan add 2TbSP refined oil and 2 TbSP butter. Add chopped onion and fry for 1 minute.
Then add chopped carrot, chopped potato, green peas, 3 slit green chili.
Cover and cook till vegetables are soft.
Add 1TbSP poppy seed, 6-8 cashew nuts, 6-8 raisin, fry with vegetables.
Next add 2TbSP poppy seed paste and fry till the raw smell of the paste goes.
Then add 3cups of cooked rice,mix well with the vegetables.
Add scrambled egg and 1TSP salt, again mix and fry for 2 minutes.
Posto Rice is ready to serve!!
