'Masala Tea' is the most popular beverages in India. When you enter to an indian house, the first thing you are offered is a cup of 'Masala Tea'. And in winter season Bengali's most favourite dishes are made with "Nolen Gur", and 'Masala Tea' is no exceptional. so now let's see how to make Nolen Gur-er Masala.
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED
- milk- 1/2cup
- water- 1/2cup
- nolen gur(jaggery)- 1.5TSP
- tea leaves- 1TSP
- cardamom- 2pieces
- cinnamon- 1piece
- clove- 2pieces
- bay leaf-1pieces
- ginger- 1/2inch
Take 1piece of cinnamon, 2pieces of cardamom, 2pieces of clove in a "hamandista" or mortar and pestle, coarsely crush them.
In the same way coarsely crush 1/2inch ginger.
In a pan take 1/2 cup of water. Gradually add 1.5TSP nolen gur(jaggery), 1 bay leaf, crushed spices and crushed ginger.
Boil for 1 minute. Beautiful aroma will come out from the boiling water.
Then add 1TSP tea leaves in the pan, give it a quick mix and boil for another 2 minutes.
Lastly add 1/2cup of milk in the pan and finally boil for 3minutes.
Your aromatic Nolen Gur-er Masala Tea is ready. Have it with your favourite biscuits or snacks.
