For chocolate lovers chocolate cake is like heaven. Here is a simple and easy to make chocolate cake recipe with easy decoration ideas.

INGREDIENTS

All purpouse flour(maida)—1cup
Powder sugar—1 cup
Oil— ¾ cup
Egg—3
Cocoa powder—1.5tbsp
Baking powder—1tbsp
Milk— 60ml
Chocolate syrup—2tbsp
Vanilla essence—5-6 drops

FOR DECORATION

Dark chocolate - 120gm
Milk - 60ml
Butter - 1TbSP

Note: You can use any bowl or cup for measurement.

PROCEDURE

Before preparing the cake batter, preheat the microwave oven at 160 degree for 10 minutes in convection mode.

Let’s prepare the batter.

Take a large mixing bowl, crack the 3 eggs on the mixing bowl.

Take a hand whisker and beat the eggs for 5 to 7 minutes or until you can see bubbles on the eggs and it's lighter in colour.

Add 1cup powder sugar in the egg mixture and mix them very well until suger melts completely.

Add ¾ cup oil in it and again mix thoroughly, instead of oil you can use melted butter or ghee.

Now it's time to add the dry ingredients.

Take a strainer,add 1 cup of all purpose floor , 1tspn baking powder and 1.5 tspn cocoa powder in the strainer , strain the ingredients very well.(it is very important to strain the dry ingredients , other wise the cake wouldn’t be a fluffy one.)

Now let’s mix the wet and dry ingredients together…

Take 1/2 of the flour and mix it with the hand mixer. Now gradually mix the flour in the egg mixture taking little amount at one time.. after mixing them it would look like a thick mixture.

It’s time to add the milk. take 60ml milk and mix well.

Now add the 1 tsp vanilla essence and 2tbsp the chocolate syrup ,mix them.

Next, take a baking tray and coat it well with oil with the help of a brush. If you have butter paper handy then cut the butter paper according to the size of the baking tray and place it. If you don’t have a butter paper then take 1 tbsp of all purpose flour and coat the baking tray, remove the excess flour by taping.

Transfer the mixture into the baking tray.

Tap the tray so the air bubbles came off.

Place a stand on the microwave and take the tray on top of that.

Now set the temperature at 160 degree for 25 minutes on convection mode.

Take out the cake from the microwave and insert a toothpick and check if it comes clean then your cake is done. (if there are some batter on the toothpick , insert the cake again in the microwave and bake for another 5 minutes.)

It's time for decoration.

Cut 120gm dark chocolate into pieces and take it in a bowl.

In the bowl add 60ml hot milk and 1TbSP butter, mix thoroughly to get a lumps free mixture.

Lebel the cake by cutting it's upper portion with a knife.

Pour the chocolate mixture on top of the cake and coat well.

Sprinkle some crushed cashew and decorate with colourful james.

Keep it in refrigerator for 2 hours so the chocolate sets properly.
